Thursday, June 15th, 2034: Rock Cats third baseman Jonathan Smith went ballistic today with the bat. He smoked the Mudcats for 5 hits and sparked New Britain to a 11-2 win over Carolina at Mudcats Ballpark.
J. Smith flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off E. Nichols in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Currently Smith is batting .342 with 3 home runs and 31 RBIs. |

Thursday, June 15th, 2034: New Britain left fielder Nathan McCabe went 5-for-5 today and paced the Rock Cats to a 11-2 victory over the Carolina Mudcats at Mudcats Ballpark.
N. McCabe doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
On the year McCabe has hit .309 with 8 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 42 runs. |
 | Arteaga Rips Springfield for 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 14th, 2034: It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Claudio Arteaga got one today. He scattered hits all over Cardinals Ballpark to pace Frisco to a 16-1 victory over Springfield.
The Springfield skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Arteaga hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
C. Arteaga hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
So far this season, Arteaga has recorded a .290 batting average with 49 hits, 4 home runs, 32 RBIs, 21 runs scored and a .328 OBP. |
