| Breaking News |  | Saturday, May 15th, 2027: Alvarado Hurls Chattanooga to Shutout Win
On the hill Manuel Alvarado stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Jacksonville 6-0.
At bat the Suns floundered, fizzled and failed to score.
"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Jacksonville manager said. "He kept us off-balance."
The Chattanooga pitcher hurled a 3-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 2 walks and had 4 strikeouts.
"I felt good," Alvarado said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."
Up to now Alvarado has recorded a record of 4-1. In 8 starts he has fanned 30 batters in 53 innings with a 2.89 ERA. |
 | Friday, May 14th, 2027: Harrisburg Loses Cox for Year
The season is apparently over for John Cox. The Harrisburg Senators medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 7-8 months with a torn tricep muscle. Cox was hurt in the game against Bowie while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
This season Cox has crafted a 4-3 mark with a 6.24 ERA in 49 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .305 against him and he has 22 strikeouts. |

The Altoona Curve breezed to victory today behind the shutout pitching of Tim Sisemore. He surrendered no runs, gave up 4 hits and finished the game with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The Curve won the game 1-0.
On his 2027 stats sheet Sisemore shows a 6-2 record, 9 starts, 66 innings, 54 strikeouts and a 2.05 ERA. |
