A veritable toddler to the American League, Alden Garland just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for July.
Over the past month the 23-year-old left fielder for Anaheim hit .343 with 37 hits, 1 home run and 8 runs batted in. He also logged 5 walks and compiled a .374 on-base percentage.
So far this season Garland is batting .312 with 4 home runs, 36 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 321 at-bats, 14 walks and a .348 OBP. Garland has played in 79 games.

 | Thursday, July 27th, 2028: Las Vegas Gamblers Ship Vandervort to Anaheim
The Gamblers and the Angels finalized a deal this afternoon. Las Vegas has traded for 19-year old minor league left fielder Andrew Harris and $1,000,000 in cash and in return Anaheim will receive 30-year old starting pitcher Jesse McNally and 28-year old starting pitcher Rudy Vandervort.
To date this year in 15 starts, Vandervort has crafted a 6-9 mark with a 5.92 ERA.

"I hope we miss him next time," the Oakland manager said. "Casillas certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
Anaheim starter Brian Casillas tamed the Oakland Athletics 2-0 with a 3-hit shutout, finishing the game with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a sharp outing.
"I enjoy facing a team like that where I can get an out on one, two or three pitches," Casillas said. "It gives me a chance to be a lot more aggressive."
Casillas has gone 6-10 this season with an ERA of 4.58 and 51 strikeouts in 133.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .273 against him.
