Saturday, June 17th, 2028: Jordan and Capo Traded
The players apparently knew they were on the trading block, so it did not surprise one of them when he learned that he had been traded to New York (N). "Got my bags packed already," he said, when reached for comment. The Mets will receive 32-year old reliever Willie Capo, while 21-year old minor league third baseman Joseph Joseph and 23-year old minor league catcher Mark Jordan will go to the Seattle Mariners.

So far this year Capo has nailed down no saves. His won-lost record is 3-4 with a 7.19 ERA.
Tuesday, June 13th, 2028: Career Over for John Vanslyke
Seattle left fielder John Vanslyke got some very bad news today. He has been diagnosed with a severe injury, and his career with the Mariners is over.

The 27-year-old Vanslyke sustained the injury at Safeco Field in yesterday's game against the Houston Astros. He was injured making a defensive play and suffered a ruptured disc.

The Seattle GM told the press, "We are disappointed John will no longer have the opportunity to play baseball for us, but he will always be a member of the Mariners family. Our thoughts and prayers are with him during this difficult time."

A look at his season totals shows Vanslyke with 1 home run, .237 BA, .286 OBP, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
Friday, June 9th, 2028: Lofland Hurls Masterpiece
The Seattle Mariners had no answer today for Cardinals pitcher William Lofland. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 6-0. Seattle managed only 5 hits off Lofland and suffered 9 strikeouts.

This season in 11 starts William Lofland has a record of 5-4 with 54 strikeouts in 67.1 innings and a 4.54 ERA.
