| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, August 2nd, 2028: Bad Behavior Costs Simmons and Black
Steffen Simmons of Philadelphia and Bill Black of New York (N) have been sanctioned by the league office for causing the ruckus at Veterans Stadium yesterday. Both players have been given 5-game suspensions for instigating the fight and subsequent free-for-all.
Thus far this year Simmons has hit .306 with 26 home runs and 92 RBIs.
So far this season, Black has compiled a 3-1 won-lost mark with no saves and a 5.45 ERA. In 33 innings he has fanned 20 and opponents are hitting him at a .305 clip.

 | Monday, July 31st, 2028: Phillies Bos Injured
Watching Philip Bos getting helped off the field today at Veterans Stadium, fans of the Philadelphia Phillies feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the center fielder will miss 8 weeks with a fractured wrist. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Bos suffered the injury making a defensive play in the game against the Braves.
This season Bos has delivered 104 hits in 330 at-bats for a .315 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .392 clip and his totals also include 55 RBIs and 53 runs scored. This year Bos has played in 85 games.
