| Breaking News |  | Friday, June 16th, 2028: Reds Perez Down and Out for Year
Francisco Perez at first refused to leave today's Chicago (N)-Cincinnati game after he suffered a herniated disc while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Cincinnati starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Perez out of action for 7 months.
This season Perez has registered 1 win and 8 losses in 13 starts with a 5.93 ERA.

 | Thursday, June 15th, 2028: Cincinnati's Anderson out 1-2 Weeks
A blow for Curt Anderson today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 1-2 weeks with dead arm syndrome. Anderson suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Cincinnati Reds are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Anderson's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
This season Anderson has compiled a 4-4 mark with a 5.27 ERA in 12 starts.

Oliver Marcell pitched a strong game in blanking the Houston Astros 12-0, allowed no runs on 5 hits, totaled 1 strikeout and gave up 2 walks.
The Cincinnati manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Marcell. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
So far this year Marcell has compiled a 5-4 record with a 3.49 ERA.
