| Breaking News | | Tuesday, June 20th, 2028: King Hurt, out 2-3 Weeks A blow for Forrest King today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 2-3 weeks with a hyperextended elbow. King suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Houston Astros are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about King's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
So far in the 2028 campaign King has delivered no saves. In 31 relief appearances he has 28 strikeouts in 38.1 innings with a 3.99 ERA and 2 wins and no losses. | | Monday, June 19th, 2028: Veteran Almon Re-ups in Houston Ricky Almon might be greedy, but there's no disputing his talent. The hotshot starting pitcher will pocket $37,950,000 after re-signing with the Astros earlier today, and will hang around another 4 years.
Some more financially prudent fans worried that the signing would burden the club down the road and might prevent it from being competitive, though many others were simply thankful that Almon didn't bolt.
This year Almon has a 7-4 record and a 3.50 ERA. | | Wednesday, June 7th, 2028: Marcell Records Shutout Against Astros Oliver Marcell pitched a strong game in blanking the Houston Astros 12-0, allowed no runs on 5 hits, totaled 1 strikeout and gave up 2 walks.
The Cincinnati manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Marcell. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
So far this year Marcell has compiled a 5-4 record with a 3.49 ERA. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Jeffrey Ospina | strained elbow ligament | 3 days | Not on DL | | P Forrest King | hyperextended elbow | 2 weeks | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 39-32, .549 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 21-15, .583 PCT | | Record on the road | 18-17, .514 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-2, .600 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 10-9, .526 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 13-6, .684 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 26-26, .500 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 14-7, .667 PCT | | Record in May | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in June | 12-10, .545 PCT |
