Opting to stay with what he knows, Tracy Trott signed an extension with the Pirates earlier today that will keep the 28-year-old in a Pittsburgh uniform for at least 3 years longer.
Trott is poised to earn $4,330,000 per year and is loved by diehards for his loyalty to the organization.
Presently Trott is batting .231 with 4 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 53 games and scored 21 times.

Medical officials from the Pittsburgh Pirates reported that the club's 22-year-old third baseman, Carl Seymour, suffered a torn thigh muscle in yesterday's matchup against the New York (N) Mets while running the bases. Seymour is expected to miss 4 weeks of action.
In 46 games this season Seymour is batting .280 with 45 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 16 runs and driven in 18.

Raymond Slover scattered 3 hits in going the distance in the Cincinnati 5-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ballpark. The 29-year-old Slover whiffed 6 and allowed no walks in the game.
