 | Wednesday, June 7th, 2028: Injury Forces Omer Mushawar Out
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays got some bad news when the team learned that Omer Mushawar was likely to be out for 6 weeks after he injured himself making a defensive play in today's game against the Oakland Athletics. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a fractured ulna. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Tampa Bay manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Omer is back in action."
This year Mushawar is batting .347 with 68 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 46 times and has batted in 49 runs.

How good was Dennis Grillo today? Just ask the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, who were blanked 7-0. The Devil Rays could muster just 6 hits against the 33-year-old Kansas City hurler. In a fine showing Grillo had 8 strikeouts and walked 1.
So far in 2028 Grillo has compiled a 4-3 record with a 5.57 ERA.
