| Breaking News | | Tuesday, June 13th, 2028: Big Day for Liriano: Swats 5 Hits "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Rochester first baseman Benjamin Liriano said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-5 day against the Ottawa Lynx at Red Wings Ballpark. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."
The Red Wings had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 14-5.
B. Liriano singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
In his season totals, Liriano has 7 home runs, .246 BA, .338 OBP, 33 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has played in 67 games. | | Sunday, June 11th, 2028: Pérez Goes 5-5 Against Ottawa It seemed that Rochester first baseman José Pérez could do no wrong today, but it still didn't come out right. The Red Wings still dropped the game to the Lynx by the score of 10-8. He did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but in the end, Ottawa prevailed in the ballgame at Red Wings Ballpark.
"I felt real good today, but my best just wasn't enough. We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play. The balls just fell in for base hits. Some days they do that," Pérez explained in the postgame press interview.
J. Pérez hit a two-run home run off K. Powe in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
Pérez is batting at a .273 pace in 2028, picking up 50 hits in 183 at-bats with 11 home runs, 36 RBIs and 29 runs scored. | | Monday, April 17th, 2028: Hits Galore: Shuey Drills 5 Hits Louisville shortstop Luis Shuey could do no wrong as he collected 5 hits against Rochester, but he couldn't win the game. "It's a shame we didn't win. It would have been a very special day if that had happened. But it didn't. At least my batting average didn't take a plunge, too," he said. The Bats were beaten 6-5 at Ballpark of Louisville by the Red Wings.
"In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Red Wings said to the press corps after the game.
Shuey agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
L. Shuey hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far in 2028 Shuey has hit .396 with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 11 runs. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | RF Jim Butler | torn bicep muscle | 1-2 weeks | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 30-47, .390 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 17.0 GB | | Record at home | 15-26, .366 PCT | | Record on the road | 15-21, .417 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-6, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 12-9, .571 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 9-13, .409 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 21-34, .382 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in May | 8-21, .276 PCT | | Record in June | 8-12, .400 PCT |
