But John Rausch did just that today for the Tides and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.
"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 29-year-old first baseman said after his record-setting performance.
J. Rausch hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, walked in the 11th, hit a solo-shot off D. Warman in the 14th and walked in the 16th.
Rausch is hitting .333 this season with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 15 hits in 45 at-bats. |  | Wednesday, June 14th, 2028: Injury Sidelines Fansler For Year The season is finished for Edmund Fansler of the Durham Bulls. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Bulls right fielder suffered a ruptured tricep tendon while throwing the ball in a recent game against the Norfolk Tides. Team doctors said it would take at least 12 months to heal.
In this current campaign Fansler is hitting at a .259 clip with 4 home runs and 32 RBIs. |  | Monday, May 8th, 2028: Fansler Wins IL Player of the Week Trophy 26-year-old Edmund Fansler sent shock waves through UBL Triple A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the International League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Fansler made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 14 hits in 28 at-bats, no home runs and 5 RBI.
Where the Durham Bulls right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Fansler certainly made his mark last week.
