"Believe it or not," said Indianapolis second baseman Benjamin Manzella, "they threw me some good pitches today."
That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Knights with a great 5-hit performance.
"He made it look easy," said the Charlotte manager, who saw his team fall to the Indianapolis Indians, 10-4. "Hats off to him!"
B. Manzella singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
This season Manzella has hit at a .404 clip and produced 27 RBIs, 1 home run and 48 runs scored.

 | Thursday, June 29th, 2028: Season May Be Over for Knights Palmer
Doctors in Charlotte said Palmer Palmer may not play anymore this year. The Knights starting pitcher received a ruptured tricep tendon during a game against the Ottawa Lynx and will be out for at least 13 months. Club officials told BNN they did not expect him to return to the team this season.
This season Palmer has registered 1 win and 2 losses in 7 starts with a 4.18 ERA.

What a day for Christian MacFater of the Charlotte Knights! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Louisville pitching apart at Knights Ballpark and sparked the Knights to a 11-5 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," MacFater told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
C. MacFater singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off W. Weber in the 8th.
This year MacFater is batting .293 with 2 home runs. He has scored 42 runs and driven in 27.
