5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today David Tickle of the Columbus Clippers had a sensational 5-5 game against Louisville at Field of the Clippers. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 8-5 shellacking of the Bats.
In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, skipper?"
D. Tickle singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
In the current season, Tickle has put up a .244 batting average with 47 hits, 1 home run, 19 runs batted in and scored 23 runs.

Kerry Smith burst onto the International League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie right fielder for Columbus garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 25-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .407 (11-27) with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs last week.
Thus far this season Smith is hitting .247 with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 81 at-bats and has played in 36 games.

 | Sunday, May 14th, 2028: Longoria Blisters Columbus
All game long Buffalo's Jose Longoria was rattling the walls at Ballpark of Buffalo and banging out base hits against the Columbus Clippers. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Bisons had a 13-8 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 34-year-old third baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
J. Longoria singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Crawford in the 7th.
For 2028 Longoria is batting .295 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
