| Breaking News | | Saturday, May 27th, 2028: Ewart Sparkles, Blanks Nashville Thomas Ewart of the Albuquerque Isotopes whitewashed the Nashville Sounds 4-0 in a complete-game win, limiting them to 4 hits while chalking up 5 strikeouts and giving up no walks.
Talking to BNN writers after the game, his manager said, "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys. Thomas is pretty poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."
Currently Ewart has a 4-4 won-lost record in 11 starts with a 3.39 ERA. He also has 45 strikeouts in 79.2 innings. | | Saturday, May 6th, 2028: Isotopes End Leyva's Streak Late in the game Bees first baseman Norberto Leyva stepped into the batter box with his 21-game hitting streak on the line. Up to then he was without a hit. Sadly it just wasn't to be -- Leyva did not get a hit -- and his streak was finally over. The Isotopes had stopped him, not allowing him a hit in 2 at-bats. However, Salt Lake won the game 4-2.
"Winning the game took some of the disappointment out of it," Leyva told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 21 straight games. It's something I will always remember."
For the year Leyva is batting .369 with 52 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 19 times and driven in 37. | | Thursday, May 4th, 2028: Leyva Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Salt Lake first baseman Norberto Leyva keeps on racking up hits in every game he plays in. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 3 hits in today's game.
"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out. I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've been a little lucky," said Leyva after the Bees 2-1 victory over the Isotopes. N. Leyva hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Thus far this year Leyva has hit .370 with 5 home runs and 36 RBIs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 37-40, .481 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 9.0 GB | | Record at home | 20-21, .488 PCT | | Record on the road | 17-19, .472 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-4, .556 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 12-14, .462 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 12-8, .600 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 25-32, .439 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in April | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 9-11, .450 PCT |
