| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 18th, 2028: Edwards Hurt, Out for Year
Round Rock starting pitcher Edwin Edwards could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn rotator cuff muscle. He exited yesterday's Memphis game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Edwards would be out 12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
In 2028 Edwards has logged 4 wins and 3 losses and struck out 44 batters in 87.1 innings while compiling a 4.53 ERA. |
 | Saturday, June 17th, 2028: League Suspends Colón and Holmes for Brawl
Hot tempers flared up and a few punches were thrown at the Round Rock and Memphis game yesterday and ended up with two players ejected. Roberto Colón of the Express and Sammy Holmes of the Redbirds have now been reprimanded and issued 10-game suspensions by the league commissioner for their parts in the fracas.
In 71 games this year Colón has posted a .308 average and put up these numbers: 2 home runs, 49 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
Holmes has taken the hill for 5 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-0 record with a 2.16 ERA. The Memphis reliever has limited opposing batters to a .167 batting average. |
 | Thursday, June 1st, 2028: Round Rock Starter Named PCL's Premier Pitcher
31-year-olds don't often go 6-1 in and haul away the the best pitcher award, but Clifton Entwistle did all that. Now, he's the toast of the Pacific Coast League. Today he was crowned the Pitcher of the Month for May.
In 7 starts he posted a 1.79 ERA and struck out 32 batters in 50.1 innings.
In the 2028 season Entwistle has recorded a 10-2 mark. In 14 starts he has fanned 64 batters in 95 innings with a 3.41 ERA.
