Roberto Méndez of the Augusta Green Jackets has now hit safely in 20 straight games. He socked 2 hits in today's 2-1 triumph over South Bend at Augusta Grounds.
R. Méndez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, flied out in the 8th, flied out in the 10th and grounded out in the 13th.
This year Méndez is hitting .270 with 99 hits, no home runs, 31 RBIs and has scored 49 runs.

José Pérez of Salem and Pete Brown of South Bend were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. They will both miss 6 games because of their fight. League officials announced their suspensions today.
Pérez is currently batting .190 with no home runs and 20 RBIs.
