| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, August 2nd, 2028: Fullerton Toys with Salem
Lancaster pitcher Rickey Fullerton blanked the Salem Avalanche 4-0, tossing a 2-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 4 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."
In 2028 Fullerton has no saves in no relief appearances with a 5-2 record and 3.38 ERA.

 | Thursday, July 20th, 2028: Avalanche Purkey to Miss Year
Charles Purkey of the Avalanche just might have to call it quits for the season. The 22-year-old Salem left fielder received a possible season-ending injury against the Rome Braves recently at Ballpark of Salem. Purkey suffered back spasms while throwing the ball. The Avalanche medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13 months.
Currently Purkey is batting .272 with 1 home run and 43 RBIs.

 | Sunday, July 9th, 2028: League Punishes Pair for Fighting
José Pérez of Salem and Pete Brown of South Bend were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. They will both miss 6 games because of their fight. League officials announced their suspensions today.
Pérez is currently batting .190 with no home runs and 20 RBIs.
