| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, August 1st, 2028: Smith Top Hitter in ML in July Even though he is a newcomer to UBL Single A, Rey Smith put up some good numbers in July and brought home the ML Batter of the Month trophy.
He was one of Rancho Cucamonga's offensive leaders with a .318 average in 29 games. He also racked up 5 home runs, 26 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
Thus far this season Smith is hitting .270 with 19 home runs, 64 RBIs and 67 runs scored. The Rancho Cucamonga second baseman was a tough out and went 5 for 5 against Augusta in a fine hitting display.

S. Slaughter hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

He has played in 84 games. |  | Friday, July 21st, 2028: Alaniz Twirls Quakes to Shutout Win Rancho Cucamonga hurler Gerardo Alaniz put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Lancaster JetHawks with a 6-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 3 hits with 3 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win.
The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."
