| Breaking News |  | Friday, June 23rd, 2028: Unknown's Season Could be Over
Joe Unknown has to call it a season. The Bakersfield Blaze starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Hagerstown Suns and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Unknown was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn labrum and stated that he would not be able to play for 13 months.

23-year-old Ángel Silva made a few Bakersfield headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Mid Atlantic League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 11 hits in 17 at-bats to put up a .647 average. Silva collected no home runs, 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Silva is presently hitting at a .350 pace with 2 home runs, 24 RBIs and has scored 26 times.

23-year-old Gabriel Gil sent shock waves through UBL Single A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Mid Atlantic League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Gil made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .467 average, 14 hits in 30 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBI.
Where the Bakersfield Blaze first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Gil certainly made his mark last week.
This season Gil is batting .344 with 4 home runs. He has scored 20 runs and driven in 22.
