Thursday, July 20th, 2028: Storm McElroy to Miss Year
The season is ending on a bad note for Jon McElroy, third baseman for the Lake Elsinore Storm. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. McElroy was hurt against the Kane County Cougars while colliding with a player at a base. He suffered a pinched nerve and will be out for at least 12 months.

Presently McElroy is batting .283 with 43 hits and no home runs. He has knocked in 12 runs and scored 16 times.
Sunday, July 9th, 2028: Green Shows Off, Hits for Cycle
It was a quite a day for Brandon Green at Intimidators Ballpark!
He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Kannapolis third baseman accomplished the rare feat during his team's 8-1 victory over the Lake Elsinore Storm.

He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."

Green went 4-5 in the game with 5 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.

B. Green singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off C. Mitchell in the 9th.

In his season totals Green has 1 home run and a .298 batting average.
Sunday, June 25th, 2028: 5 Hits for Hillcats Miller
Matt Miller really sizzled at the plate in today's 13-6 win over Storm. The Lynchburg first baseman blistered Lake Elsinore for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.

"Miller was too tough to get out today," the Storm skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

M. Miller hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, flied out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off G. Hammond in the 9th.

Miller is presently hitting at a .345 pace with 11 home runs, 75 RBIs and has scored 65 times.
