Wednesday, June 14th, 2028: Sun's Hit Streak Over
The Lake Elsinore Storm clamped down on Lai-hsiang Sun and put a stop to his hit streak at 22 straight games. He went without a hit, but it didn't keep the Yankees from winning the game. Tampa downed the Storm 2-0.

In 2028 Sun has produced 103 hits in 269 at-bats for a .383 average with 1 home run and gotten on base at a .435 clip.
Wednesday, June 14th, 2028: Vega Shuts out Lake Elsinore
Mario Vega had the Lake Elsinore Storm dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 2-0 shutout performance for the Tampa Yankees. He gave up 1 hit and collected 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

Lake Elsinore hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.

The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out."

In 15 starts this season Vega has gathered 9 wins while suffering 3 losses. He has pitched 99.1 innings, allowed 101 hits, struck out 95 and has a 4.44 ERA.
Tuesday, June 13th, 2028: Storm End Shaffer's Streak
The Lake Elsinore Storm got more than a 1-0 victory over Tampa today at Ballpark of Tampa. They put an end to Matt Shaffer's 22-game hitting spree by holding him without a hit in 4 at-bats. But it was no big deal to the Yankees second baseman.

Shaffer seemed to feel more for his team than himself.

"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit. I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."

Presently Shaffer is batting .274 and has collected 4 home runs, 37 RBIs, .304 OBP and scored 51 runs.
