The Chicago (A) White Sox have finalized a deal with All Star-caliber reliever Joe Reno that will extend his stay in Chicago (A) at least 3 years and will pay out $12,100,000.
This year Reno has 4 saves in 40 relief appearances with a 4-2 record and 3.39 ERA. |
 | Saturday, August 5th, 2028: White Sox Lose Loftus for Season
The season is apparently over for Michael Loftus. The Chicago (A) White Sox medical staff informed the club that the right fielder will be out at least 8 months with a ruptured medial collateral ligament. Loftus was hurt in the game against Seattle while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
So far this season, Loftus has recorded a .316 batting average with 131 hits, 20 home runs, 63 RBIs, 74 runs scored and a .390 OBP. |
 | Thursday, August 3rd, 2028: Babin at His Best, Whips White Sox
In a knockout performance, Clarence Babin beat the White Sox 1-0 with an impressive 2-hit shutout.
The Royals hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Babin told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working... it don't get any better than this."
The White Sox manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best... and their guy was."
This season-to-date Babin has 12 wins and 8 losses and a 2.40 ERA.
