"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the Jacksonville manager said, "Ismael Deivalle made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Deivalle had no strikeouts, no walks and allowed only 4 hits as the Akron Aeros whitewashed the Jacksonville Suns 4-0.
In 9 starts this season Deivalle has notched a 3-5 record and a 3.59 ERA.

 | Monday, April 10th, 2028: 5-Hit Blitz by Binghamton's Bailey
5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Dave Bailey of the Binghamton Mets had a sensational 5-5 game against Jacksonville at Ballpark of Binghamton. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 5-1 shellacking of the Suns.
In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, skipper?"
D. Bailey singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Bailey is batting .267 this year with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 8 hits in 30 at-bats.

 | Thursday, August 5th, 2027: Robinson 5-7 Against Sea Dogs
Who needs batting practice? John Robinson of Jacksonville apparently doesn't as he battered Portland with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 9-8 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 7 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
J. Robinson singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 12th.
Robinson is hitting at a .348 mark this season. His stats show 1 home run, 52 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He has played 110 games for the Suns.
