| Breaking News |  | Thursday, August 10th, 2028: Aeros Moreno to Miss Year
Pedro Moreno has to call it a season. The Akron Aeros reliever sustained a season-ending injury against the Corpus Christi Hooks and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Moreno was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a ruptured disc and stated that he would not be able to play for 11 months.
His 2028 stats sheet shows Moreno has managed to hold opponents to a .203 average in 22 relief appearances, while putting up 4-0 record with 22 strikeouts and 10 walks in 39 innings. He has a 0.92 ERA with no saves.

 | Thursday, August 3rd, 2028: Álvarez Tosses Shutout Against Akron
Juan Álvarez really wowed everybody at the ballpark with his 6-0 shutout victory over Akron today. The Chattanooga pitcher mystified the Aeros in a strong performance. He gave up 5 hits and totaled 1 walk and 12 strikeouts.
His manager said, "Juan had them chasing a lot of pitches and talking to themselves. It was something special to watch."
On his stats sheet this season Álvarez shows a 6-5 record, 15 starts, 95.2 innings, 77 strikeouts and a 3.29 ERA.

 | Friday, July 28th, 2028: Jacksonville Stops Francis's Hit Streak
Aeros left fielder Rob Francis went 0-for-5 today in Akron's 9-4 triumph over the Jacksonville Suns, snapping his 20-game hitting streak.
Francis spoke to BNN after the game and said, "I knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later. I just would have preferred later."
When he made an out in his last chance at bat, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout.
The Suns manager shrugged off the streak. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," he said. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
This season Francis has hit 3 home runs and posted a .302 batting average.
