| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 19th, 2028: Bad Boy Brawlers Suspended 15 Games
Baseball officials have suspended two players for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" in yesterday's Mississippi-Altoona contest at Braves Ballpark. Braves center fielder Gerardo Cruz and Curve center fielder Phil Higgins will have to sit out 15 games for their part in the brawl.
This season Cruz is hitting .222 with 5 home runs.
This year Higgins has made 24 starts, thrown 157.2 innings, fanned 99 batters and walked 46. His won-lost record is 9-7 with a 4.40 ERA.

 | Monday, June 19th, 2028: Baker on Fire: 5-5 for Springfield
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Roger Baker of the Springfield Cardinals. He tore up the Mississippi Braves to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Springfield 13-1 win today at Cardinals Ballpark.
"Baker was a tough out today," the Mississippi manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
R. Baker hit a three-run home run off M. Hill in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off J. Sandoval in the 7th.
So far this season Baker has hit .281 with 8 home runs, 44 RBIs and and scored 31 times.

 | Monday, June 19th, 2028: Barry Selected Top Player
26-year-old Matt Barry sent shock waves through UBL Double A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Texas League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Barry made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 3 home runs and 5 RBI.
Where the Mississippi Braves second baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Barry certainly made his mark last week.
In 2028 Barry is batting .297 with 6 home runs.
