1. Extensions will commence on May 1st of each season.
2. May only be offered to players whose current contract expires at the end of the current season. No extensions may be made to players who are arbitration eligible or on automatic re-sign.
3. Extensions will be done in-game.
4. Any team offering a contract extension before May 1, and to an ineligible player (rookies, arbitration eligible players, etc) will be fined 2M and said player will become a free agent. If you have a question as to a player's eligibility, please ask the commish, there is always a response.
5. Extensions must be signed by the end of the playoffs.
6. Once a player states it is his intention to test the market, no more offers can be made. Similarly, if a player states at the beginning of negotiations that he will not listen to offers, none may be made.
7. Once you sign an extension there is no backing out.
8. Extensions may be unbalanced, but no year may differ by 60% of any other year. This applies to free agency as well.
1. There is a 100 million salary cap; owners may go over this for September callups as the game assigns 300K contracts.
2. Any owner caught tampering with the financial data for his or her team will be removed from the league immediately.
3. Team income consists of broadcasting revenue, merchandising revenue and ticket sales. The ticket price is $10 by default but can range from $1 to $20. Of course the lower the price, the more fans and vice-versa. Ticket prices can be changed anytime by changing them in your game and then sent to the commish via team export.
4. Another source of income is the play-off revenue.
5. The payroll and released players are the only expense teams have. The player expenses will grow when the season progresses, as will your team income. At no time can you sign a player if you don't have the cash to do so.
6. Teams in the red (negative or no cash) will not be allowed to make moves that will take them over revenue projection. This means if you have a payroll of 60M and last year's revenue was 63, you will not be allowed to go beyond that 63M. Unless you have clinched a playoff spot, we will not allow for a "potential playoff income." We will pro-rate the salary of the players and make a decision, as we know payroll does not always equal expenses. So just because it may look like your payroll will be over, since you are not responsible for the full salary, we won’t count it against you. In the example above, if you want to trade for a guy making 5M, your payroll would be over revenue, but if it's after the All-Star break, you are responsible for less than half, so it would be allowed. The same goes for cuts of players with more than one year left.
7. Teams in the red for 2 yrs running will be warned and a 3rd losing season will result in a polite dismissal. Teams that put together back to back 95+ loss seasons will be under the watchful eye to ensure they are making an effort to get the team quickly back to respectability. If we feel that an effort is not being made (hoarding cash, lots of payroll space, etc...), we will PM that person and notify him that his status in the league is on shaky ground.
8. If a team is over the 100 million salary cap, he will be warned by the commish to get under the cap. If an owner stays over the cap after the warning by the commissioner the commish will release a player of his choice to get the team under the cap.
