Section - 7 Euroball Federation

Historical Perspective- In late 2003, when the UBL was in it's infancy following the collapse of the MLB due to steroids and high ticket prices, another incident was shocking the world. Was was later to be known as the "Beckham Scandal" (named for its most popular culprit), European football (soccer) was brought to its knees, never to recover. International investigators uncovered one of the largest sports betting scams known to man with the involvement of literally hundreds of European football players. The Russian mafia was largely thought to be involved, but that has never been confirmed and the investigation has concluded. The scandal hit so hard, fans stayed away from games in droves, and fearing bankrupcy, sponsors pulled out like wildfire.

With football a European failure and hockey nonexistent, the Europeans turned their attention to a blossoming sport. With the UBL in full swing and fans re-embracing baseball, the Europeans hired a Japanese consultant and the Euroball Federation was born. The fans were slow to take to it at first, but eventually it picked up. In Germany, where 2 teams were started, fans were coming in droves by the end of the season. At the completion of the first European Cup, the league was deemed a success and the word spread all the way from Lisbon to Moscow. In 2010, the league was such high quality that it attracted the attention of the UBL, who had long been plucking players from Japanese baseball clubs.

Specific Rules:

* Only players 27+ who are free agents with minimal loyalty and EBF experience (no minor leaguers) will be available.

* All deals will be 3 years in length and contain a no-trade clause for at least 1.5 seasons.

* All deals will be taxed by the EBF at 10%, meaning a player signing for a total of 60M will cost an additional 6M in cash.

* Each UBL team can only sign one (1) EBF player per season. In the case of one team winning multiple bids, they will be awarded the player with the highest contract.

* In the event of a tie on a player, the player will be awarded to the team with fewer wins the previous season.

* I will sim the EBF offseason and compare the yearly deals offered in UBL to the highest offer in EBF. It's simple, you bid higher, you win.

* All UBL teams may bid on EBF players.

* You must be signed up for BOSI, as the bidding page uses the login info to verify your team.
